My Vera Lane Studio Design Team post this week features the newly released Journal Faces. They can be used in so many ways!
The my journey piece was colored using only Tim Holtz distress oxides & distress ink markers. I rubbed the ink pad on my mat then spritzed with water and placed and lifted the image (card) several times to get the desired look. I also used my water brush to paint in her hair with distress inks.
Beautiful dreamer here was colored with Julie Nutting Hair and skin tone watercolor pencils. I then cut her out and placed on a page in my Dylusions art journal that had previously been a happy accident. I colored around her in black distress crayon to give her some dimension.
The journal face above I wanted to make look old and distressed. I used the image transfer technique. Left some of the paper behind from the transfer and painted her with distress oxides. The background was stamped with a Hampton Arts stamp from Jo-Ann Fabric & Crafts. I outlined the image with Sakura Gelli Glaze pen.
