Altered Skull Bottle | Bleeding Art DT

Hello Everyone!

This month on the Bleeding Art Challenge it’s ANYTHING GOES! And well those who know me know I have a fondness for skulls and such. I found this bottle at Tuesday Morning last month and immediately knew it would be perfect to alter and make even more awesome! So let’s get on with the fun details…

Products Used:

  • FolkArt Acrylic Paint – Pure Black
  • Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paint – Buff
  • Brea Reese Alcohol Ink – Fog, Lavender, Sky & Blending Solution
  • Muslin Fabric Strips
  • Emerald Creek Embossing Powder – Allure Charred Gold
  • Paintbrushes
  • Old 45 album
  • Heat gun
  • Glue Stick

Paint the bottle with Pure Black Paint

Set bottle aside to dry

Dry brush just the skull on the bottle with Buff paint. Use a fluffy brush with most of the paint removed and you will get this awesome effect!

*Sorry I forgot to take photos of the album melting.* Just use your heat gun and watch the magic happen!

Paint the label of the record black.

Use glue stick to album label area and apply embossing powder. Add some heat to melt the powder!

Place album on top of bottle as a “hat” for the skulled bottle.

Now time to dye strips of muslin with Brea Reese Alcohol Ink! Just randomly add drops and see what happens!

Tie to top of bottle above album

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy tutorial as much as I enjoyed making it. Now go make something creepy and awesome!

Don’t forget to join in the Bleeding Art Challenge here!
